Richard Torrey has been an author, illustrator, and internationally syndicated cartoonist for more than 20 years. His list of clients include Highlights Magazine, KidCity (a Sesame Street publication), and Inside Sports. His syndicated comic strips, HARTLAND and PETE and CLETE, have appeared in hundreds of newspapers around the world. For the past 15 years he has developed a top-selling line of greeting cards for Recycled Paper Greetings Inc.
More recently, Richard's interests have turned toward children's books. He has written and illustrated the popular Beans Baker series for Random House and is the illustrator of over a dozen books for Simon & Schuster, Golden Books, Mcgraw-Hill, and Grolier/Scholastic and Innovative Kids.
The son of Hockey Hall of Famer, Bill Torrey, Richard lives in Shoreham, New York, with his wife and two children. His preferred medium is Peanut butter and Jelly and failing that, Watercolor/Pen and ink and acrylic.
