
Bio
MARILETA ROBINSON discovered that she loved to write for children while creating curriculum for her Navajo students at Rough Rock Community School in northern Arizona. Her first effort was Mr. Goat’s Hogan. She is the author of numerous stories published in Highlights, Cricket, and other children’s magazines, and two picture books: Mr. Goat’s Bad Good Idea, which received a 1980 Children’s Choice award, and The Big Bicycle Race, a Cabbage Patch Kids book. Marileta recently retired as Senior Editor of Highlights and Highlights High Five. In addition to editing fiction for both magazines, she wrote “The Timbertoes” in Highlights for several years and introduced a new regular feature, “The Adventures of Spot,” in High Five.
