Bio
LAURA COVAULT lives in Ventura, California with her husband, two daughters and a handful of extremely argumentative cats. When she’s not writing, you might find her teaching musical theatre to children, listening to Celtic music or obsessively checking Facebook for new messages.
Life leads you on interesting paths, and thanks to a friend’s advice to join SCBWI, Laura began a rollercoaster of a journey as a writer several years ago. Her wonderful husband encouraged Laura to take a few years off and finish all those writing projects. With the help of her fabulous critique group, Laura has completed a YA romance as well as a middle grade action/adventure novel, entitled, The Potentials, which made the quarter finals in the Amazon.com Breakout Novel Award contest. Her picture book, Oh What Do You Do Mom, When I Am At School? won the SCBWI Ventura Writer’s Day most promising rhyming picture book award. |
