Bio
I currently live with my five children, three snails (although one looks like it's on its way out) and a bearded dragon. I don't count the crickets the bearded dragon eats because that's just too sad. And--oh yes--still just the one husband. We did used to feed a stray cat we named Stubby but she moved on to the neighbor's house.
I enjoy doing school assemblies and classroom presentations for elementary schools and am looking forward to doing a career day presentation at the local middle school. I have taught several successful online writing classes and occasionally present at live writing classes and local writers' groups. I will also be giving a keynote address and several workshops at the American Fork Arts Council Conference for Writers.
My work in children's fiction has won awards from both the Utah Arts Council and League of Utah Writers and my first published picture book, Carmen's Sticky Scab was a Humpty Dumpty Magazine's Choice book in 2008. I have another picture book under contract with Tanglewood Books and have published work and sold children's poetry to several magazines.
