From the early days of doodling on the garage walls of her childhood home in New Jersey, to redesigning her high school logo, to sewing her own wedding dress, Angela has always been creative. Before discovering her love for writing and illustrating children’s books, Angela worked as an Art teacher and English teacher as a Second Language instructor. After earning her third graduate degree in 2011 – an MFA in Illustration at Academy of Art University – she began writing and illustrating for several educational and e-book companies. Her favorite children's books to write are ones that involve characters of color and multicultural themes. In her illustrations, Angela displays versatility with her realistic and whimsical styles and can work in various mediums, including digital and traditional collage, digital painting, watercolor, and pastel. Angela resides in South Florida where she enjoys walks along the beach with her husband, two stepsons, and son Alonzo, who is her greatest inspiration.
